On Sept. 12, 2011 residents approved the 2012 proposed budget of $1,512,527 and elected four trustees.  Three candidates appeared on the ballot. Newcomers Tobi Kupferman and Vanessa Valente-Visintainer join incumbent Barbara Palermo to serve three year terms commencing in January. Craig Henneberger, was elected to the board as of September 12, 2011, filling an unexpired term. The Gold Coast Public Library community consists of 11,000 North Shore School District residents. In the past year the library received 94,000 patron visits, circulated 109,000 items, provided 340 programs for 6400 participants, and answered more than 12,000 reference questions.
