NLS
(Nassau Library System)
NLS is a consortium of the 55 public libraries in Nassau County created
to foster quality public library service and to enhance library resources
and services. NLS maintains a Service Center at 900 Jerusalem Avenue,
Uniondale, NY 11553. Among the services available to Gold Coast residents
is the Long Island Talking Book Library which is a free library for
individuals who cannot hold, handle or see well enough to use regular
print books. LITBL lends professionally recorded books and magazines
and the equipment needed to play them. Materials are sent to borrowers
and returned by postage-free mail. For more information, contact Mary
