2024 Approved Budget – Revenue Amended by Board of Trustees 9/20/23
A note on the 2024 budget: On September 12th, residents approved the 2024 proposed operating budget of $2,556,200; incumbent Trustees Valerie Lynn and Julie Rooney, as well as first-time candidate Tom Parnell, were elected to serve 3-year terms beginning in January, 2024. Thank you for your support! Subsequent to the vote, the Library became aware of a Direct Tax Assessment Payment, estimated to be $496,000, that would be received from LIPA in 2024. While still investigating what this means for future years, the Board of Trustees took immediate action to use these funds to reduce the 2024 Tax Collection by $496,000. This will result in a 23% reduction in what residents pay in Library Tax in 2024.
